This Privacy Policy explains how DIRK DOUGLAS MILLER ("FreeMyMemories," "we," "us," or "our") handles information for FreeMyMemories.
FreeMyMemories is a local iOS app. The app stores and processes imported Memories, export files, media, metadata, thumbnails, archives, caches, local diagnostics, and app records on your device. FreeMyMemories does not operate an app account system, app backend, server-side import pipeline, remote media library, remote database, remote backup service, or cloud storage service for imported Memories.
FreeMyMemories does not ask for your Snapchat password, does not log in to Snapchat for you, does not use Snap OAuth or Snap Kit, does not use any Snap developer SDK, and does not use any Snap/Snapchat API or platform integration. FreeMyMemories is independent from Snap Inc. and Snapchat. FreeMyMemories is not sponsored, endorsed, approved, or operated by Snap Inc.

Apple displays App Store trader contact details where Apple requires them. App Store trader contact details are legal contact details, not a promise of phone support. For app support and privacy requests, use [email protected] unless applicable law requires another contact method.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to FreeMyMemories and to information FreeMyMemories controls in connection with the app, App Store purchase support, app support, and privacy requests.
This Privacy Policy does not govern Snap Inc., Snapchat, Apple, Google Cloud Storage, iCloud, Photos, Files, your email provider, your device, your network provider, backup services, third-party apps, or other services you choose to use. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy practices.
FreeMyMemories hosts app legal and support pages at freemymemories.com. A visit to that website is not app use and is not covered by this app Privacy Policy unless you send an app support or privacy request to FreeMyMemories.
Local App Data
The app processes the export data and Memories you provide so the app can import, organize, view, search, map, export, and delete them on your device.
App-local data includes export ZIPs or export links you provide; photos; videos; captions; dates; durations; locations; media metadata; thumbnails; overlays; caches; archive files; staging files; import jobs; import progress; error states; support codes; import receipts; local diagnostic records; export selections; export manifests; local settings; local notification preferences; StoreKit entitlement status; restore-purchase status; and share-extension handoff records.
App-local data remains on your device. FreeMyMemories receives app-local data only when you intentionally export, share, send, back up, or submit it outside the app, including when you send files, screenshots, links, messages, or diagnostics to support.
No App Account Or Backend
FreeMyMemories does not:
- require or provide a FreeMyMemories account;
- operate an app backend that receives imported Memories;
- operate remote storage for imported Memories;
- operate server-side import processing;
- collect Snapchat credentials;
- log in to Snapchat;
- use Snap OAuth, Snap Kit, any Snap developer SDK, or any Snap/Snapchat API or platform integration;
- include a third-party app analytics SDK;
- include a third-party app crash-reporting SDK;
- include an advertising SDK;
- track you across apps or websites for advertising;
- sell personal information;
- share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Apple-controlled StoreKit, App Store, TestFlight, crash/performance, diagnostic, sales, finance, refund, and developer-report surfaces are Apple platform surfaces. They are not a FreeMyMemories app backend, third-party app analytics SDK, or third-party app crash-reporting SDK.
Network Requests
FreeMyMemories is local-first. It is not a no-network app.
The app uses network access only for bounded app functions: retrieving export or media data from links you provide; using Apple StoreKit and App Store services for purchase, entitlement, restore, refund, and transaction status; and opening links you select, including support, privacy, terms, and App Store pages.
Those requests do not create a FreeMyMemories account, remote import pipeline, remote media library, remote database, remote backup, or cloud storage service for imported Memories.
When your device retrieves export or media data from links you provide, the link provider, hosting provider, network provider, or destination service receives the request and related technical information under that provider's own terms and privacy practices.
Apple or iOS-controlled services process app-related information under Apple settings and Apple terms, including device or iCloud backup, App Store infrastructure, TestFlight, diagnostics, crash reports, purchase/refund status, and developer-reporting surfaces.
Storage And Deletion
FreeMyMemories stores app-managed data in local app storage on your device. Durable app data, including the app database and archive, can be included in Apple device or iCloud backups depending on your Apple settings and backup configuration.
Temporary files, caches, thumbnails, overlays, staging files, and other regenerable app files can contain user media or metadata. They are app-local files. The app or iOS can regenerate or remove non-durable files. Durable archive and database data remains retained local archive data until deleted by app controls, app deletion, device controls, or OS behavior.
Deleting data inside FreeMyMemories does not delete original export files outside the app; copies saved to Photos, Files, iCloud, email, other apps, or other services; exports shared with other people or services; Apple purchase records; App Store receipts; refund records; Apple Account records; Snapchat-side account data; Snapchat export records; device backups; iCloud backups; support emails; support attachments; or diagnostics already sent to FreeMyMemories.
Because FreeMyMemories has no app account backend and no remote storage for imported Memories, many privacy controls for app-local data are local app, device, and Apple controls rather than requests to a FreeMyMemories server.
Exports
When you export Memories, save to Photos, save to Files, share through another app, send an email, or choose another destination, the exported copy leaves the FreeMyMemories local app archive and is controlled by that destination.
Exports can include media content, timestamps, location metadata, captions, overlays, manifests, and other metadata depending on the source data, export options, and destination.
FreeMyMemories cannot delete or control copies you export, share, email, save, back up, or send outside the app.
Apple Services
FreeMyMemories is distributed through the App Store. Apple processes App Store downloads, updates, purchases, payments, taxes, receipts, refunds, Apple Account information, storefront information, fraud prevention, and related purchase records under Apple's terms and privacy practices.
FreeMyMemories uses Apple StoreKit entitlement status to unlock paid features, restore purchases, and respond to refunded, revoked, unavailable, unverified, or changed transactions. FreeMyMemories does not receive your full payment card number from Apple.
Apple provides developer tools and reports, including App Store Connect, TestFlight, Sales and Trends, Payments and Financial Reports, Xcode Organizer, StoreKit transaction information, and Apple crash/performance diagnostics. Those records are Apple-native platform records, not FreeMyMemories app telemetry.
Support
You control whether to contact FreeMyMemories support. If you contact support, FreeMyMemories receives the email address, ordinary email metadata, support name or contact details, message, attachments, screenshots, files, diagnostic summaries, and other information you send.
Support diagnostics are voluntary and user-initiated. If the app offers a diagnostic summary or support snapshot, review it before sending it. FreeMyMemories receives only what you send.
Optional diagnostics can include app version information, device or OS information, import job state, import receipts, local error states, support codes, selected log excerpts, timing information, entitlement status, filenames or paths, counts, dates, URL hosts or link-related details, metadata summaries, and other technical facts needed to troubleshoot the issue.
FreeMyMemories uses identifiable support messages and optional diagnostics only to respond to the support request, troubleshoot the issue, protect the app or support channel, maintain required records, and satisfy legal, security, tax, abuse, payment, or dispute obligations. If FreeMyMemories uses an issue report outside the support record, FreeMyMemories first reduces it to redacted, non-identifying technical facts.
Do not send Memories files, export ZIPs, signed URLs, screenshots, or other sensitive material unless the support issue requires it and you decide to send it. If troubleshooting requires opening a file or link you sent, FreeMyMemories uses it only for that support request unless legal, security, abuse, payment, tax, or dispute obligations require otherwise.
Retention
App-local Memories, archives, thumbnails, caches, staging files, diagnostics, receipts, and settings remain on your device until you delete them, the app or iOS removes non-durable files, the app is deleted, or your device/backup settings change.
Support emails and support/contact data received by FreeMyMemories are retained for up to 12 months after the last interaction unless deletion is requested sooner or longer retention is required for legal, security, abuse, payment, tax, accounting, or dispute reasons.
Apple controls retention for Apple Account, App Store purchase, payment, refund, tax, storefront, crash, diagnostics, TestFlight, App Store Connect, Sales and Trends, and developer-report data held in Apple's systems.
FreeMyMemories-retained copies or summaries of Apple-provided reports, entitlement status, transaction status, diagnostics, purchase-support records, and operational records are retained only as long as needed for purchase support, app operation, accounting, tax, fraud/security, legal, abuse, payment, or dispute purposes.
Redacted, non-identifying technical facts from support reports can be retained to understand or fix a bug after the identifiable support record is no longer needed.
Purchases
If Lifetime Unlock is offered in your App Store storefront, Apple processes the purchase through StoreKit and the App Store. Refund requests are handled by Apple, including through reportaproblem.apple.com where available.
FreeMyMemories uses Apple-provided entitlement and transaction status to unlock paid features, restore purchases, and respond to refunded, revoked, unavailable, unverified, or changed transactions.
FreeMyMemories retains purchase-support records only as needed for purchase support, accounting, tax, fraud/security, legal, abuse, payment, or dispute obligations.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app schedules local notifications through iOS. Notification permission and delivery are managed by iOS. You can change notification settings in the app or in iOS Settings.
FreeMyMemories does not need a FreeMyMemories account or remote notification backend to schedule local notifications.
Legal Bases
Where laws such as the EU GDPR or UK GDPR require a legal basis, FreeMyMemories relies on one or more of the following:
- contract necessity for app functionality, support, purchase-related functionality, requested services, export/share actions you initiate, and device-permission-dependent features you choose to use;
- legitimate interests in operating, securing, troubleshooting, and supporting FreeMyMemories, responding to user-initiated support requests, and reducing support reports to non-identifying technical facts while keeping identifiable data collection limited;
- legal obligations, including tax, accounting, payment, dispute, security, consumer, App Store, and regulatory obligations;
- consent where applicable law requires consent and the interaction satisfies the applicable consent standard.
App-local Memories are not uploaded to a FreeMyMemories server. Rights and controls for that data are exercised through the app, the device, Apple settings, or destination services.
Privacy Rights
You can contact [email protected] to request access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, or other privacy help for information FreeMyMemories controls.
FreeMyMemories cannot remotely access, export, correct, or delete app-local Memories or app archive data because FreeMyMemories does not possess that data. FreeMyMemories can explain app and device controls, but it cannot retrieve local Memories from your device.
For support/contact data FreeMyMemories holds, FreeMyMemories can search by email address, support name, or other reasonable information you provide; provide a copy where required; correct or delete records where required; and explain the result. FreeMyMemories can request information needed to verify the request and locate the record. FreeMyMemories will not request extra identifiers merely to locate app-local data it does not hold.
FreeMyMemories responds without undue delay and, for EU/UK-style requests, no later than one month unless a longer period is allowed by law.
Regional Rights
If a privacy law in your country or region gives you rights that apply to FreeMyMemories, contact [email protected]. FreeMyMemories will handle requests for information it controls, including support/contact records, Apple-provided records available to FreeMyMemories, and app-related operational records. FreeMyMemories will explain the limits for app-local Memories that remain on your device.
FreeMyMemories does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If EU, EEA, or UK privacy law applies, you can have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or port personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
If Canadian or Quebec privacy law applies, you can contact FreeMyMemories for privacy questions, access, correction, deletion, or complaint handling.
If another law that applies to FreeMyMemories requires additional disclosures, appeals, opt-outs, non-discrimination rights, complaint rights, authority contact rights, or category-specific notices, those mandatory rights apply.
Language
The app UI, support, and legal documents are provided in English unless FreeMyMemories clearly states otherwise. Non-English App Store metadata does not mean the app UI, support, legal documents, or review responses are available in that language. Mandatory local-language rights and disclosures control where applicable law requires them.
Children
FreeMyMemories is a general-audience app and is not directed to children. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use FreeMyMemories only with permission from a parent or guardian where applicable law requires it.
The app can locally process user-provided Memories or metadata that depict or relate to children or minors. FreeMyMemories does not receive that app-local content unless you send it to support or otherwise transmit it outside the app.
FreeMyMemories does not knowingly collect personal information from children or minors through FreeMyMemories-controlled channels where parental or guardian consent is required by applicable law. If you believe a child or minor sent personal information to FreeMyMemories, contact [email protected] so FreeMyMemories can review and delete it where required.
Security
FreeMyMemories reduces remote privacy risk by keeping imported Memories local, using no app account backend, and operating no remote storage for imported Memories. No app, device, email system, network provider, operating system, backup system, or third-party service is perfectly secure.
You are responsible for securing your device, Apple Account, Snapchat account, export files, export links, backups, and exported files.
International Processing
FreeMyMemories is operated from the United States. Support records, Apple-provided records, email records, and operational records can be processed in the United States and other countries where FreeMyMemories, Apple, email providers, or other service providers operate.
Local Memories that remain only on your device are not transferred to a FreeMyMemories server.
FreeMyMemories uses lawful transfer bases where required for information it controls, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or provider data-processing terms where available, contract necessity for support you request, legal obligations, or another applicable safeguard. If applicable law requires a specific safeguard before FreeMyMemories can process a category of information for a country or region, FreeMyMemories must use that safeguard or avoid that processing for that country or region.
Business Transfers
If FreeMyMemories is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset sale, financing, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, information FreeMyMemories controls can transfer as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law. App-local Memories and app data FreeMyMemories never receives are not in FreeMyMemories possession to transfer.
Availability
FreeMyMemories is available only in App Store countries or regions where Apple and FreeMyMemories make it available. Availability can change based on App Store settings, law, sanctions, export controls, payment restrictions, tax or banking restrictions, support readiness, legal-language readiness, or launch decisions.
Country availability and language localization are separate. Availability in a country or region does not mean localized app UI, localized support, localized legal documents, or localized review responses are available.
Changes
FreeMyMemories can update this Privacy Policy as FreeMyMemories, App Store configuration, legal requirements, support practices, or data practices change. Material changes apply prospectively unless applicable law or App Store rules allow another effective date. FreeMyMemories will update the effective date and provide any notice required by law or App Store rules.
